  • Visiting Scientist as DAAD Fellow April-May in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. D.Werner, Faculty of Biology, Philipps University,Marburg, Germany.
  • Post doc Fellow under GTZ/Germany in the laboratory of Prof. D. Hess, Institute of Plant Physiology & Genetics, University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany for 1 year (January 1995-December 1995).
  • Fellowship of the Royal Society of London in the Laboratory Prof. E. C. Cocking, Centre for Crop Nitrogen Fixation, University of Nottingham, Nottingham, UK for 3 months May – July 2002.

  • Suprabal Gorkha Dakshin Bahu by late His Majesty King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev in March 2001 for outstanding contribution in the field of Biotechnology in Nepal (The highest civilian Award of Nepal).
  • Associate Member of Third World academy of Sciences (TWAS), Trieste, Italy from 1997 to 2003
  • Fellowship of the Royal Society of London for 3 months in 2002 to work in the Centre for Crop Nitrogen Fixation University of Nottingham, Nottingham, UK
